In 2002, Qian Yi
starred in The Ghost Lovers,
a 40-minute long Kunqu opera about a woman who
returns from the dead with the intent of taking her lover back with her
to the underworld. The opera was performed as part of the Lincoln Center
Institute's educational program and at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston,
SC.
