The Happy Prince




Qian Yi played the lead role of the Swallow in the Kentucky Opera’s 2005 production of Happy Prince, a “puppet-driven adaptation” of an Oscar Wilde story by the same name. This version of the Happy Prince, intended for audiences 8-12 years old, is a remake of a 1965 Malcolm Williamson opera for children. The fantastical puppetry was designed and conceived by Amy Trompetter, a New York-based artist and professor at Barnard College.
