The Night Banquet




The Night Banquet, a contemporary Chinese opera based on the famous scroll painting “Night Revels of Han Xizai,” was the result of the collaboration of two of China’s most noted artists, composer Guo Wenjing and director Chen Shi-Zheng. Qian Yi joined an outstanding ensemble cast for the production for The Night Banquet, which had its world premiere at the 2001 Festival D’Automne in Paris, and its US premiere the following year at the 2002 Lincoln Center Festival.
