The Orphan of Zhao




Qian Yi starred in the 2003 Lincoln Center Festival production of The Orphan of Zhao, a 13th century opera that is considered an essential part of the Chinese repertoire. The opera tells the story of generations of revenge spurred by a rivalry between General Tu and Zhao Tun. Chen Shi-Zheng (The Peony Pavilion) directed Qian Yi in the title role.
